Travers bushfire & ecology is committed to ensuring that the health and safety of all employees, contractors and visitors is our highest priority and we are committed to  maintaining an injury free workplace.

To demonstrate this commitment we provide sound leadership and management and constantly work at improving our safety performance and recognise the positive contribution from all employees and contractors. All personnel are actively involved with the safety effort through:

  • The encouragement of a team approach in our efforts to achieve an accident and injury free workplace and a healthy work environment, with staff at all levels demonstrating their commitment to safety.
  • Open, honest and effective communication with the view to achieving a common understanding.
  • Adoption of a no blame approach when investigating all accidents and incidents.
  • The development of clear strategies in consultation with work groups to identify all hazards and to improve systems to manage and control those hazards to an acceptable level of risk.
  • The provision of the necessary resources, support and training to all employees to enable them to carry out their functions safely.
  • Regular audit and review of procedures and systems to seek continuous improvement in safety performance.

Accountability for individual safety will be the responsibility of all personnel. Management and supervisors will be accountable for the support and implementation of this policy within the company.
