This project required a rigorous, intensive field investigation, including the identification, mapping and assessment of all bushfire-prone parcels of land managed by Gosford City Council.

Travers bushfire & ecology conducted detailed analysis and interpretation of aerial photographic and topographic information, fire history data and literature research. Comprehensive field assessments were undertaken within all Council-managed lands that posed a fire threat. A thorough audit of the fire trail networks and accessibility for fire fighting and maintenance equipment was also undertaken.

The risk analysis study produced the following outcomes:

Detailed risk profiles of each Council-managed parcel investigated within this study.

An assessment and mapping of the fire trail network within Council-managed lands.

Recommendations regarding bushfire mitigation and management within Council-managed lands.

Identification and mapping of bushfire management interfaces where specific strategies were recommended within this study.
