This award-winning 480ha ecologically sustainable development presented complex ecological and bushfire management issues. Travers bushfire & ecology struck a careful balance between protecting the site’s natural features, whilst protecting the community from the threat of wildfire. The project involved in-depth bushfire planning, ranging from fuel assessments to emergency evacuation. Following detailed ecological assessment, Wallarah National Park was established, connecting to the broader landscape through a network of habitat corridors.

Travers bushfire & ecology has been involved with this project from 2001 to 2011, defining the ecologically sustainable and bushfire safe design elements of the landscape.
